Claire Featherstone runs Chemo Headwear

I have spent nearly all my life immersed in the world of textiles and am a self-confessed fabric addict; I’m sure the attic might simply cave in with all the fabric one day! When I was at school I ended up being the only girl who stuck it out with O Level needlework which resulted in the most amazing one to one teaching for two years. At sixteen I got a job in a fabric shop as a Saturday girl. It was probably these 2 things that taught me the most about fabrics, sewing & fashion. I then went on to study Textiles Management at Leeds University before getting a job as a clothing importer and becoming a company director. I now have a professional qualification which allows me to put the letters BA Hons C Tex ATI after my name should I feel the need!?

I started Chemo Headwear as I realised there was a need for high quality, handmade, beautiful headwear that was just a bit more “high end” than what was currently available. Having lost far too many family members to cancer I wanted to support Macmillan by donating 5% of all my proceeds to them. Please have a look at my website and check out my Chemo Headwear facebook page. You can contact me by e-mail
