Everyone has experienced periods of tiredness and we all appreciate how important good energy levels are in order for us to live a productive and fulfilling life. But the term ‘low energy’ is insufficient to describe the exhaustion that can affect those with cancer.
The idea that a healthy diet is supportive for people living with cancer is nothing new in the world of complementary medicine and it’s great to see this idea starting to penetrate mainstream medicine (yes I know there’s still a long way to go) helped along by the recent publication of some very positive research studies.
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer just over two years ago, at first it felt like a death sentence. I looked at my three children, I looked at the man I loved and at my whole circle of extended family and fabulous friends, and I was so sad to know with almost absolute certainty that I was going to die and leave them bereaved.
Life's been very busy. I've been amazed at just how much I've managed to get done, but I have to admit that my sleep pattern has suffered.
