Matty Gieling

My name is Matty Gieling and I am a certified life coach.

Originally I trained as an Occupational Therapist in Amsterdam, when I was in my twenty’s. I worked with a variety of patients, in re-habilitation centres, children with learning differences and geriatric units.

I also travelled the world for a couple of years as a stewardess for the airlines.

I moved from Holland to London in my thirties, because my husband’s job took us there. I started working as an Occupational therapist for some years in hospitals and schools in London. I also enjoyed doing many different courses in Self-development as well as well as courses in history of Arts.

In 2005 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, which I overcame but it was a life changing experience. I started a study with the Institute of Psychosynthesis, in 2008. This was a foundation course in counselling and eventually I specialised in Life Coaching. In 2013, I did another certificate course in Medical Coaching with the Medical Coaching Institute. This specialisation has enhanced my coaching skills and Health and Wellbeing is one of the area’s I like to work with.

At present I work in the Fountain Centre in the Surrey County Hospital with cancer patients.

Other area’s I work with are:

- Relationships and family issues

- Major life changes
