We won an award – ‘Award winning skincare for cancer patients’ – would you get us??
I can’t believe that I forgot to tell you – Defiant Beauty by Jennifer Young won an award. I was delighted! I have never been much for entering our products into competitions. I know I am contrary and, therefore, wouldn’t be minded to enter a competition……but……there has, never before, been a category for ‘skincare for cancer patients’, or even ‘gifts for cancer patients’.
True to form, I didn’t enter this competition, which is why I am so excited about it. Members of the public (accessing cancer support services) were asked to nominate products for awards in certain categories.
Defiant Beauty received (more than) enough nominations to be put to a greater vote (which we won). Further, the ‘specialist skincare for cancer patients’ products were judged by an expert panel.
I couldn’t be more pleased, nominated for, voted for and judged by the exact group of people for whom we make the product. Now, that is a meaningful award.
We were told of the award a while ago but I still should have told you sooner. I can only claim distraction. I start my university course this week. I am not sure they are ready for me and I know I am not ready for them. I hope to get better at running a business as a result of the 12 contact days (over 6 months) and coaching and mentoring that accompanies the academic work. I will report back and share the best learning. The first 2 hours (2 hours???) are allocated to a motivational speaker. I have a feeling of dread – two hours of (presumably) high energy motivation. Oh dear.
Sending award winning tolerance (I hope)
"We were immediately impressed with Jennifer's product range and the research behind it. Her products have produced some exceptional results and that fits with Ragdale Hall's own philosophy of offering our guests the highest quality experience we can. Jennifer herself was directly involved in training our therapists in how to use the products to maximise results.
Ragdale Hall has also found the Jennifer Young range has been particularly popular for those with sensitive skin or wanting to use a 'nasties-free' range.
Ragdale Hall has around 130 therapists. Those who have undertaken Jennifer's training and perform the treatments at the Hall love doing the treatments and feel they are part of being inclusive to all. Treatment manager Hannah Farrell added: "They love the fact that they are able to help people who are going through a really difficult time in their lives and can make a difference."
Guests are giving very positive feedback on the treatments and product range. Guest Nina, said: "My Jennifer Young massage and facial was wonderful and my therapist was confident, skilled and made me feel very special. We had a wonderful day! So 'Thank-you' for what you are doing in the industry. It really matters."
