Spas discriminate against cancer patients, talking to vulnerable clients and working alongside health care professionals.
Has anyone spotted me, poster girl, yes, me, for FHT? I am on the front of all of their printed and digital promotional materials for the 2018 training congress at the NEC. I was shocked. I don’t even use images of me on our promotional materials (for good reason). Luckily, FHT have adopted my stealth approach to visuals, even the folks in the office didn’t notice it was me.
I am giving two talks at the congress in addition to my free of charge, open stage seminar. Tickets have just gone on sale and there are some left. My FHT workshops sold out last year. Book soonest if you would like to attend in May.
Marketing yourself to vulnerable clients
Sunday May 20th 1030
As therapists, we want to help people, but our skills are not always in marketing and promotion. It can be difficult enough to promote our services generally. Marketing a specific skill to a vulnerable group can feel scary. This interactive workshop helps you to navigate your way through marketing and responsible marketing to vulnerable client groups.
Communicating with medical professionals
Sunday May 20th 1400
Many complementary therapists feel that medical professionals undervalue their skills and remain unconvinced of the benefits of complementary therapies. This session will help you to understand why your skills may not be appreciated and will give you strategies to help you to be heard.
Holistic Health Open Stage
Sunday May 20th 1145-1215
I am speaking about discrimination against cancer patients by therapists and spas. This subject is inspired by the recent case brought against a large spa group following their refusal to give a beauty treatment to a client affected by cancer. They were acting on the advice of their insurers. I have been asked about this case and its consequences a lot. I hope I get some of difficult questions from the audience at NEC.
I am still practicing for my Holistic Trinity Facials Master Class next week in Manchester. There are some places left but as all materials have now been sent to Katie it will cause a flurry of activity in the office if you book the course now.
We have flurries outside as well as in. The weather is beautiful, sunshine and snow. I am meant to be on a very early train in the morning. The weather forecast tells me it will feel like -12 degrees at 0600 ish when I leave home. Let’s see if I think it is beautiful then.
