How long does it take for a heart to break?
How long does it take to heal?
Is being in love ever enough?
How real are the feelings we feel?
Does one become two?
Is that what we do
When we give our heart to another?
Is there more to life than being a wife?
First a friend, then a spouse, then a lover?
Can we ever be free once you and me become we?
But if we're never once bride and groom Are we left on the shelf, alone with
ourself And facing the mongers of doom?
Life can be long and life can be short
Our time is not ours to decide
Love is a gift, a huge 'what if?'
In our hearts it will ever reside.
